To increase search engine ranking, we need to take care on metatag, look for quality link partner, keywords in paragraph, quality related info, smartpage..
But some one say that if our website traffic increase, search engine ranking will increase as well.
Will that be true?

Search engines are constantly changing the way your links count which will effect your ranking. Not all high page rank sites are equal. It's easy to get a one-way backlink from an article directory so it just does not have the same weight anymore.
The age of your domain plays a big role in long term search engine rankings and also natural one way linking to your website from relevant sites.
You should also try and mix up your anchor text and have a variety of keywords linking back to your homepage and inner pages. Updating your website frequently with fresh content will always keep spiders coming back and indexing your site.
