Need a Liability Only Insurance Policy  Reply with quote

I have an unusual situation.

My mother put my name on her house.
Her insurance company is raising her rates--a lot.
My insurance company will insure the house only for a lot less.
Her personal property will not be covered--but it isn't worth much.
She needs liability coverage for the house.
Where can we find it?

My first thought was a renter's policy but since she is an owner, companies do not want to write a renter's policy.

Any advice would be appreciazted.

Option.
Take a mortgage, 2nd or refinance. Include mortgage, fire & flood insurance as part of the loan. Now you have your lender working on the best insurance deal for you.

Oops, i thought the question was where to look, not what to buy.

Not mortgage insurance, although that would also make sense, actual homowner policy using lender (clout) referral,

The refi part is to pull money out for other purposes such as prepay annual insurance premium, property improvements etc, as he has just been put on co-owenr or joint tenancy, and it would make sense to pull out all cash of the house in case hospitalization is the reason for being added as property ower.
