Top paying Google Adsense Keywords |
|
|
Hello.
I was just wondering what you think about the top paying google adsense words. Do you think they work? Apparently "mesothelioma" pays $84.08 according to: http://www.sorve.com/adsense.htm
I honestly do not believe they work. What are your opinions?

Dude,
stay away from those. If you want, I can make you a list of highest paying
keywords for your niche.
Tell me your main keyword and in a few days I can have a list ready for
you. Free of charge that is, of course
I've been burnt badly with these things (I didn't know better then). I paid
enormous amount of money for hosting (you know, the "I'll get rich quick"
mentality sucked me in and I just paid $200 for one year of hosting --
I thought I'll get that back in like a day...).
Yeah, right. It was exactly for Mesothelioma. I spent a whole weekend
gathering information and a whole week gathering even more info and
writing a unique site optimized for mesothelioma.
Then I let it loose and in a few weeks traffic started coming in and
I got my first clicks.... $0.02 per click. I have never seen a lower CPC.
Never. The problem is that many other people that are "in the know"
make small bids for similar key terms and direct traffic to their "junk"
sites optimized solely for mesothelioma -- a site full of ads and very
little content. Something like:
Mesothelioma
Welcome to mesothelioma.
Was mesothelioma something that you were looking for? Then look no
further, because mesothelioma is our specialty...
You get the picture. And even they don't get such a high CPC. I bet they
get about $5-$10 per click. Yes, that IS extremely high, but google is
weeding such scammers out and this is not something I'd want my
company to be associated with.
So, if you wish, you can PM me and we'll get a set of high-paying keywords
for you. Write about things you like. Maybe you won't get more than $1.00
or $2.00 per click, but hey... many get as little as $0.02!
P.S. Another problem with these keywords is that firms that bid so much for
a term don't want 1000s of people coming to their site because they were
scammed into clicking an ad. That costs them $86,000. And that could
happen in a day! Almost no one can afford such a loss.

Thank you! you probably saved me from a big scam! It did kind of looked fishy to see any PTC above $50 (I do not know which company could afford that!)
Thanks again.

You are better off just growing your site organically and letting the keywords take care of themselves. Your time is much better spent creating good quality content, promoting your site and getting more traffic.

I don't think you should necessarily avoid those topics just because they are competitive. Just be aware that it may be extremely difficult to get traffic unless your site is really optimized for a tight niche and you can offer something different.
Just rehashing a bunch of articles about mesothelioma won't get you anywhere. But if you have firsthand experience or if you can target a much smaller group you may be able to do it.
For example, 'mesothelioma' is a broad topic with lots of competition, but 'mesothelioma legislation in chicago' is much tighter. They'll be far fewer people searching for that term, but you'd have a much higher chance of ranking well for it.
Just be sure that someone is searching for it. If you go for too narrow a niche you'll still get no traffic.
