What do you do for fun? any hobbies? |

It seems like every time somebody has a post about spending money all the replies are very frugal in nature. Now, I am not new to forums and I know they all have their own niche and this one is about money and how to make the most of it. I was just wondering what everyone does for fun... what hobbies do you have? Anything in your life that you shamelessly spend your money on that most people would consider pointless?
Me? I am into anything that is big, bad, and/or FAST! I currently have a 600+ hp 2003 Mustang Cobra convertible (that needs more power) and an '03 Ford F350 (that also needs more power ) bought as a daily driver and to use to tow the Cobra around. I also like to ride ATVs and will be buying one here shortly. I am also into photography, I'm not that good, but I love to take pictures. All my hobbies are a little expensive but they make life worth living for me
So what do you do for fun?

Do you really? I always wanted to do a road course. I just dont want to put a roll cage in my car, it kind of takes the point out of getting a 'vert.
Any mods done to it? What year is it? ACR, RT-10, GTS?

I also spend a bit on my car. That is an expensive hobby to have but it sure is fun. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to be one of the drivers who doesn't care how fast their car is or how it looks, maybe it would be easier. Then again it would be way less fun.

I like my rollbar, especially being an open top car. I consider it head insurance
It's an old Gen I 1994 Dodge Viper RT/10. Pushing over 50k miles, but runs excellent. I've got a great Viper technician and he doesn't up-charge just because it's a Viper so the maintenance cost is like having a regular car.
There's plenty of mods, here's some I can remember off the top of my head:

Aftermarket 1.7 Roller Rockers
Fluidyne Aluminum 3 Core Radiator w/Modified Fan Module
Roe Racing Fan Timer Module

Kiaser,
Incredible looking car, especially for a 12 year old vehicle and having 50K miles. I really like that black/yllow theme inside the car.
I cant see putting a roll cage/bar in my car, i wouldnt race it enough to make it worth it. Besides, a small fender bender + a roll cage and no helmet on (daily driving) = head trauma.
How does the car handle out on the track? I see you have some suspensoin mods, some killer brakes, and other stuff. Does the Viper have horrible weight distribution because of the large engine?
I am not sure how this forum likes pictures being posted, so i will just put up one picture and links to others.
Both of my toys, picture taken late May 06.

Mind sharing what kind of car you have and what you have done? Have you done the work yourself? I am a mechanic so i do all of my own work, it makes the hobby that much more fun (for me anyway).

The Gen I cars (92 - 96) were still decent track cars. Weight distribution is great on the older ones, it handles like a real race car on a road course. It's definetely harder and different to drive than a regular sports car (like a corvette) because it isn't made to be easy to drive (like traction or stability control). Mine is very different than other Gen I cars due to all the upgrades, but even a stock Gen I is awesome to track with.
The newer ones (Gen III) are absolute perfect road course cars. I just can't bring myself to like the way they look.

My hobby is travel. I love to go new places and just last week went to Lake Tahoe and did some fishing. What a gorgeous place to spend a day fishing.

When I was young McDonalds didn't have the play equipment in my area.
So I enjoy taking my son there. When I was in college people with kids annoyed me because that is all they ever talked about.
Last concert I went to was Jethro Tull and that was almost a year ago. I've meet Uriah Heep, Dio, the base player of Guardian in real life.
Oviously I like to market. My 19th month old is trained to hand out busisness cards. I inform people that it is actually his ID on the cards.
His mom busted us doing this and lucky for me she thought it was cute.
As for travel one of the reasons I bought the time share was so my wife would be cool for times when we don't have a chance to go anywhere.
I would rather just meander around town on foot and test out a local restraunt that I can go to again and again then eat some where I won't be able to visit much.
I'm also getting to be more and more of a cook doctoring up canned soup with sage or thyme.
