hi there...
i would like to know..
if you have a fixed deposit / time deposit with local financial institutions or banks.... what would happen to these deposits if there is an outbreak of war? Would the monies be recoverable after the war has ended? (what are the chances?
If the time deposit receipts are lost at the financial institutions records, how would you claim what is rightfully yours?
are there any precautionary measures to take or consider when investing either in a local bank or a foreign bank in one owns country?
Thank you

Keep your receipts!
It doesn't take a war for an institution to lose records...mergers are one reason as well as general or organisational incompetence.

Difficult choice.
What if the bank was insured by a foreign insurance company?
