Before I began working for myself, I worked for a small software company. The company was progressive and offered the opportunity for employees to work one day a week from home. This was indeed a blessing, besides saving some gas and commute time, working from the comfort of home was more enjoyable, and it added to family time, as lunch together didn't require 45 extra minutes of driving, and babysitting allowed Mom to get out and do some needed errands. As far as the company was concerned, it was a big morale booster and we found that there really wasn't much impact to the operations, as we utilized MSN messenger, phone and email for communications, and were able to do just about everything we could at work except for pressing the reset button on our computers.
