quote: Maybe you can recommend something to a beginner. I need some tips on gear and everything else
There are lots of types of hunting. As a kid, growing up on a farm, there were rabbits, pheasants, quail. Not much special equipment, just levi's a warm coat, and gloves. And an orange cap. These days an orange vest in also required in some places.
For deer hunting you need some ropes, knives, and gear for packing the meat out of the woods and back to your car/truck.
For elk, caribou, etc you'll need some hunting buddies - it is substantial work to pack an elk or a caribou carcass - they are often shot miles from a road, in mountainous terrain, snow, rain, etc. It is best to have enough help to butcher and pack out in a single trip. if you need two trips, you may have trouble finding your kill - and you may encounter bears that have found the kill. Good waterproof boots, heavy brush pants, a side arm, flashlights, protein bars, coffee, walkie-talkies.
