[quote="Excentris"]IF you got 2 more dollars an hour for flippin hamberger or 2 dollars less for calculator and sitting on your bum.. what would you rather do.. be honest.. i would rather be at the calculator myself
Oh and uh.. Yes.. He was forced to take the job or he would be on the streets and other jobs wont accept him...[/quote

Let's be honest here, if your getting 2 more dollars an hour to flip hamburgers then sitting on your bum with a calculator, that must be a very low paying job. Manual labor jobs on average don't pay nearly as well as jobs that come with an education, http://www.payscale.com/research/US/Degree=Bachelor%27s_Degree/Salary. My point is that if you choose to not get an education of any type then on average your salary for a manual labor job versus having an education and getting a good job, is far less statiscally.

As for your example of someone taking a job or being on the streets, well yes in that extreme example which represents a very small portion of the population then you'd be right. But stastically your wrong. Only 3.5 percent of the popluation her in Minneapolis are unemployed for example.

i did not state any facts that they are low paying jobs but i am going to assume the obvious you would give up that 2 extra dollars to push buttons and sit down rather then stand and flip hamburgers and the flip hamburger for 2 extra dollars.. Funniest bs.. you get 7.95 flipping hamburgers and 12 for sitting and pushing button.. that is BS in my mind because the guy standing and flipping hamburgers has to be all methodical fast and timed and has a tedious job ware as the guy pushing buttons at a calc just pleasurably sits in a luxury chair and pushes buttons into a calculator then into a computer.. job could be 12 and the calculator job can be 10 in my scenario.. the only factor I enamored up is that it pays 2 dollars more to flip hambers and what would u rather do.... And I Know You would Choose the Calculator Job to sit and also so you dont have to do tedious work

Managing Money is Easy as Pie and Flipping hamburgers is a stereotype of being easy and it is not.. I have been there.. You have to deal with standing for 8 hours sometimes the hamberger gets burned if you are not timed right as you are doing something else you have to remember stuff and standing all day makes yoyour legs get numb up your shins and back of the leg.. and they get payed way less

First of all, the jobs you're quoting are way more than a $2 an hour difference. I am not in the banking or finance industry, but my job in management which is mainly administrative in nature, makes 5-7 times that of a burger flipper if broken down to an hourly wage. I say 5-7 times more because it depends on the area of the country you are and the pay scale. And yes, most of my job is behind a desk.

But that pay comes with a much greater degree of responsibility, education, and experience than the burger flipper. In other words, anyone in my field could be a burger flipper tomorrow with very little training. None of the burger flippers could do my job. Not without many years of education, training, and experience.

You fail to recognize that most higher paying individuals worked their way up to that position. They started off at the bottom, making much less pay and producing a lot more sweat. But for any job, company, corporation, etc. to be successful and efficient, it requires managers who have given that sweat and labor, and who have developed the skills and received the training and education to be able to be responsible for many employees and millions of dollars in assets. Even that burger flipper has a manager that primarily sits at a desk and takes care of managing resources. This individual even gets paid considerably more money than the burger flipper in the other room.

You bought into the bull shit class warfare argument that everyone should get paid the same. Sorry, but everyone is not worth the same. Some people bring more skills and talents and they should get paid more than someone with less skills and talents. And before you go on about minimum wage and a living wage, don't. Minimum wage jobs were never meant to be a living wage. They were designed for low skilled employees, usually young inexperienced individuals, as a starting point to learn skills, develop work ethics, and be a stepping stone to advanced employment. Some minimum wage jobs are good for part time supplemental employment for individual who want additional income.

It is not my concern or problem if some people don't want to pursue education or build up their job skills to get a better job later. And instead, they'd rather pump out puppies in their teenage years. As a teenager, I had quite a few minimum wage jobs. While going to school and living at home, I had numerous entry jobs to help me make some money and develop skills. By the time I graduated high school, I had enough skills to work up to a better paying job. After a number of years of gaining experience and going to college part time, I increased my education and experience. I then moved up to even better paying jobs. I kept advancing, kept increasing my education and kept increasing my skills and experience to where I am at today.

The problem today is, many people don't think they should have to work their way up. They want all the luxuries that their parents had, but immediately after leaving high school. They want a minimu, wage job to be a living wage instead of an entry type job to develop skills or a supplemental income. And they resent anyone who worked their way up to a better financial bracket. Instead, they are lazy, or irresponsible and pumping out puppies, and they don't accept responsibility for themselves and that the reason they are poor, is mainly their own fault.

I think I have to go back to one of my posts from a different thread and repeat: "Just say NO to drugs".

You have no idea what you're talking about. And to think you could do my job easier than flipping burgers is the true bull shit artist at work. Spend 5-6 years in school; become an engineer; get all the certifications that annotate that you actually know what you're BS'ing in the job interview; and then maybe you can do my job. But because you'd be fired probably within a week, you probably would wind up flipping burgers. Because that's where the unskilled labor goes to work. Whether or not they want to improve themselve, is totally up to them.

I stopped commenting in the other thread because I realized what you were preaching wasn't about money. Now I realize that you bring absolutely no value to ANY discussion that concerns money. I'm done here. I'll wait for your next thread to begin about something else meaningless.

You did not Enamor up the fact that you are an Engineer or artist or what not.. you said manager and when I hear Manager I assume You manage people..

And The Value of My Discussion is in Humanity not Money.. I See the Bigger Picture..
You have to Really ask Yourself this Question How much Damage does money do and how much help isit? and is it really worth it? Especialy when I Know Science and Research can come up with a better way.. and nothing you can ever say will ever make that a dream..that my friend is a reality you could never ever defeat! You just say its a dream because you are blind to reality.. Your Mind eyes are covered by a green slip of cotton paper!
Humanity needs to take control of its future instead of a Game called monetary Dictate its future!

so oh and uh.. Yeah.. Seriously if I hear say no To Drugs from you one more time I will get Angry and Ping around and get Your Ip address to Your computer and Crack Your operating System or Overclock Your Processor if I am Angry Enough .. Because that Really Pisses me off!.. Do I make Personal Slander about You? No.. Actually to be honest with You People who say just say no to drugs like you do pry do them anyways.. How do You like that? Bet You hate that Nonsense Huh? I Honestly do say no to drugs man so dont say it anymore..

As my father always said, "Get an education so that you don't have to do manual labor". He was right, because manual labor jobs don't pay as well according to US statistics and the other benifit is there's less wear and tear on your body. The fact is, society sets the rules and pay based on need, so again it is a choice for the majority of us. For example, Walmart workers went on strike demanding higher pay. Well, nothings stopping them from quitting and getting a job elsewhere that pays more. Get off your butt and learn something and work very hard at it.

Oh wow!! A simple "no, I don't do drugs" would have sufficed. (Your extended answer says it all)

I'm not replying any longer to this thread. I said I wouldn't. Not on the subject of money. I don't think you offer any practical or realistic insight on that topic.

But I am curious why you reply to all your other posters in the 3rd person. You say things like "YOUR species" or "YOUR race". Why can't you say "OUR" race or species? Are you of a different species? You've already implied that you believe you are better and more advanced than the rest of us. I'm just curious if you are human or some sort of extra terrestrial. I am not trying to be derogatory or personal. Simply noticing a trend when you speak of our behavior or position on a topic. It seems to always be "YOUR" species or race. You exclude yourself from being part of the same species.
