IBD 100 index? |
|
|
IBD claims that the IBD 100 has beat the S&P soundly over the past decade. Is it possible taht some mutual fund or index fund exists that tracks the IBD 100? Has anyone heard anything about this or know where I can find out?

The Kirk Report had this to say about the IBD 100...

Investor's Business Daily 100
Investor's Business Daily is a key resource for anyone who invests in the market. Whether or not you agree with the CANSLIM strategy in which the paper is based upon, too many investors (including mutual fund and hedge fund portfolio managers) read IBD every day so it makes sense to read it as well. At a minimum, it will provide you a glimpse of why certain stocks are moving and why.
However, that being said, IBD is really focusing its top 100 stocks called the IBD 100. These are stocks which meet the paper's criteria of good investment opportunities. The problem is that while the list is a good one, unless you are playing with someone else's money like a portfolio manager, the list is hard to use as an individual investor.

Mutual Fund Tracking IBD 100 |

I'd like to see one too. And one that would move to cash when IBD signals a distribution period.
I searched google and found nothing.
Checked foliofn.com and received this reply:
Thank you for contacting FOLIOfn.
We do not currently have a folio based upon the IBD top 100. This is a model which clients could easily create in their own accounts.
We invite you to continue touring our web site at
http://www.foliofn.com to discover the value of FOLIOinvesting. Feel free to reply to this email, or call us at 1-888-973-7890, if you have any further questions.
Thank you for your interest.

I went a bit contriarian to their strategy. I went for the highest dividend paying stock that they rated AAA.
I sold WD-40 to purchace Dorchester. Which I had bought prior to knowing about IBD. I think WE-40 was rated ABB but check with the mag as ratings do change.
I was going to milk dorchester. Buy at 18 and sell at 20. But after I sold it at 20 something it only went down to $18.18. Last I checked it was at 23 something.
I bought it at 11, 15, and 13 a share. Held it for a couple of years.
They say you should ignore dividends. However I quite like dividends. Wish I had not gotten greedy and tried to milk traiding them.
