chilling facts, retirement savings for individuals  Reply with quote

I search the net regularly about money and such, and its amazing all the chilling facts you see. Like how many people are in debt and how many people have a net worth that is not worth even noting. I was wondering what the average amount of savings individuals save up for retirement. Ive seen in many places that people hardly save anything up for retirement. I was curious to see if my parents have enough money to live comfortably in their retirement years. If anyone can find a website with such information that would be great. In a earlier post I noted that my parents owe nothing for anything. Everything is paid for. They get $2500 a month and have over $455,000 in stocks and in CDs. Our house is worth around $100,000 and our shop is worth around $30,000. They are pretty conservative. Is this enough for them to live comfortably since they are conservative. THANKS

Yes, it depends on how comfortable they want to retire. For most people about one million dollars is enough for retirement.
