Another major American industry is asking for assistance as the global financial crisis continues: Hustler publisher Larry Flynt and Girls Gone Wild CEO Joe Francis said Wednesday they will request that Congress allocate $5 billion for a bailout of the adult entertainment industry.
�The take here is that everyone and their mother want to be bailed out from the banks to the big three,� said Owen Moogan, spokesman for Larry Flynt. �The porn industry has been hurt by the downturn like everyone else and they are going to ask for the $5 billion. Is it the most serious thing in the world? Is it going to make the lives of Americans better if it happens? It is not for them to determine...

It is just another company who produces something. It can get broke. People might not want to pay for it anymore.

I know this thread is old, but I've just found it. I agree that there were more important things that needed financial assistance. But people are such creatures who need to be satisfied, that's why porn industry is supported by the government (I don't take into account business). Personally I use different adult content sites all the time, from porn films to Fire Cams shows. But if they are closed, I guess, I'll find other sources of the adult entertainment without taking efforts.

Adult industry will be always popular and profitable, as long as people are interested in sex. I never suspected this area might even suffer from low incomes and other financial risks, seems like it will never lose it's source of income. Sex toys market is rather developed, too, just take a look at these awesome top ten sex toys .
