          |  |  I never used anything quite so formal.  I just make sure more money comes in than goes out, although I do enter all my transactions into Microsoft Money so I can make keep an eye on where my cash is going.  I guess that could be considered meeting the same need.

 | I made my own on Excel.  I've tried MS money, and quicken and I think my spreadsheets are so much easier to use.  The only thing I like about those programs is that I can download my 401k and stocks and it will give me my net worth automaticly.  With the spreadsheets I would have to plug in the numbers. But for simple budgeting Excel is just much easier.
