did get some serious disrespect. But quite a few teachers would be like I started out as a sub.
My wife was totally unsupportive. And some are horified that I taught cuz my spelling is so bad.
My wife says it has SUB in the name.
Before the downturn they used me almost every day that they had school. But the district went from 12 subs to over 50 subs.
A retired teacher could automatically be put on the sub list with an active licence and 5 years in with the district.
So when their 401Ks became 201Ks I ended up working 1 to 2 days a week.
My sub licence is still good till the 20th of Dec. But right now it's not even worth renewing. Haven't subbed since 2010.

I know how hard it is for you, and I understand you. I would rather suggest something to you. Since you know your weaknesses, why not try to improve on them while you are not yet in active duty. Your license will always be worth renewing. What if all of a sudden, a vacancy comes in, and you have an expired license. The future is never definite for you, so always prepare for the better and for the worse.
