I'm really interested in trying this business. Any advice about selling on eBay is greatly appreciated. Especialy where could I get some cheap electronics (mp3 players, cell phones, etc.) to resell on eBay?
Cheers

Hi,
if you would like a nice resource on making money on Ebay, visit this site:
Make money with Ebay (aff. link).
I'm not sure how things work in your country, but for cheap mobiles, I'd first
go to Ebay and check for how much and how well they're selling. Then I'd
place some small free ads in newspapers that I'm willing to buy mobile
phones for some lower price. People tend to buy new mobile phones
almost every year or two and don't know what to do with the old ones - you
could offer to "help them get rid of them AND even make some
money" Could work.
You could also buy private label rights to a popular ebook and change it a
bit (mostly the title and graphic), then sell it on Ebay as your own. Make
sure to point it out at the beginning of your sales letter so Ebay doesn't
shut you down.
Have a great day.

What I do is goto discount chains that happen to have some insane deal running at the time. If you get a great deal you come to ebay and sell it for a markup then make a few bucks off shipping. It's a lot less stressful than true bargain hunting.

Ebay Reselling = Waste of Time.
Too much time working, not enough profit.

Re-selling on e-bay |
|
|
I have done a lot of research to get cheap electronics or cheap anything that I could re-sell with a decent markup on e-bay but I have found nothing of real interest. From what I learned there are 2 ways you can go about it:
1. Sell useless crap and hope someone out there wants to buy it)
2. Start buying and selling a product related to one of your interests(You like golf? buy/sell golf equipment as you must have some basic idea of what is a good and a bad deal)

I think it can be done, but it is a lot of work and a lot of time. My parents are retired antique dealers, but have been selling things on e-bay nearly exclusively since 2000. My mom spends nearly all day scanning things, taking pictures, and uploading them to their website, and posting things on e-bay. They move volume, which also means they are packing things up and running to the post office or UPS point. They always have to be on the move, finding new things, going to auctions, making contacts. It's not the mythical job of just sitting there and letting the cash roll in. The secret is that there is no secret. You just buy things cheap and sell them for more than you pay, and then you do it over and over and over.
