I unwisely invested in a second house in Florida (Ocala). I have a primary home in Queens, NY. I can no longer afford the mortgage. I tried to short-sale, but after 5 months of back and forth calls etc. they tell me I can't short sale because my mortgage on the FL home is on time. They tell me if I foreclose then they will put a lien on my primary home and my savings accounts. I can't afford both homes because of bad advice. How do I get rid of the FL home? I don't mind foreclosure, but can they take my primary home like they threatened to do?
