| Roth IRA with Vanguard Star Fund |

Hello, I just set up a buy and hold Roth IRA with the Vanguard Star Fund and am new to retirement investing but have been losing money daily in it. Did I make a mistake setting up an IRA now and should have opted with CDs or something instead? I did a lot of research and the Vanguard Star Fund sounded good for beginner investors but I guess it's bad times.

What is your timeline? If you need the money in 3 years it might be a problem. If you need the money in 30 years then why are you even looking at day-to-day fluctuations?
