Any Probate Investors Here? |
|
|
I recently read about a little known method of real estate investing called probate. Does anybody here invest in this type of real estate?
I want to learn more but don't feel like paying $5000 for a seminar. Is it hard to get probate properties? How would you go about looking for one? Some people claim you can pick up properties for half the market value when they are in probate.

The best money to be made in probate properties is promoting it, or being a crooked probate attorney (my brothers had one of those on their paper route as children). The reason we know is because he was caught.
Most heirs, if they don't want the property themselves, can't cover the mortgage, or need to split it, would likely want fair market value. You might get a little bargain if they are anxious to settle the estate, but I wouldn't expect half price bargains to be normal.
