Washing Your Car  Reply with quote

-hopes this is in the right thread-

Ahoy. Question for all you car enthusiasits...screw it.

Can you pop the hood and wash your car with a hose in there? It's not the cleanest of places, but it also seems a bit dangerous to me to wash it and get everything wet. Yano...what if I get the wrong thing wet and then my car breaks down as I go to work and stuff.

Is there any special way of doing it? I'm a neat-freak...except for my own personal space at home. So I'd love it if someone could give me a yah or a nay or a different way.

Those car washes at gas stations suck. Hardcore. They just throw out spiffy colored liquid to make it look like it's working, but the second you get out all that dirt and crap is still on it. No longer will I spend 8 dollars on "the works". Takes me a little less then 45 minutes to wash my cars.

Sorry bout the rant thrown into the question.

Water, especially direct hard spray, can cause problems if you wash it too long. It shouldn't hurt to get things wet in the engine compartment but don't water log it to death.

If you want to clean inside the engine bay you're gonna need some good degreaser spray and metal wipe.
