The Questions of Life. |

'Lo, the name's Tim. Before you start - read on. Throughout a year of school it was convinced that I was meant for more than just working at a Burger King. I go to a school called Francis D. Raub Middle school, or hopefully - went. You see, I live in Pennsylvania - in the "Ghetto". My teachers and classmates all knew very well I was a genius; few understood me. Those who did felt I did not belong in a regular school. I was bored with my school - bored with the things they thought that they could teach me. I out-witted the technicians, destroying a virus. I confused my science teacher with a Nuclear Fusion reactor design. I could have taught them if I wished to do so.
My teachers were like parents to me, I had something in common with them all. It would be said that they were family.. anyway. There is a school of which I could go to, but I am afraid it is impossible. The school is Moravian Academy, but the prices are simply too high - $16,000 a year? None of my family could afford it. So I have to do it myself. I will go to any limit to get into that school, even my teacher's are counting on me. I just need to find a way - any way possible. So now I end up here, hoping one of whom reads this can point me in the right direction.

What do you plan to do if and when you get to that school? Why do you intend to go there? There are many ways to find employment other than Burger King. I must say that I enjoy BK more than MC D's. What are your goals in life?

Maybe you should think wat you want to BE next time.
This is just a process.

Anyone can just tell you this and that and you can follow BUT if you know your destination (wat you want to be). What direction will not matter. Is the ENDING PLACE that matter.
Think 1st wat you want. The process is like the journey.
All the best for any direction you choose. After all you will be in your destination.

Yes, I must admit Burger King is better than McDonald's, personally the food is better.. Most of my family and I admit that I will grow up to be.. successful. I have a thorough enjoyment of annoying my brother with this. There are possibly thousands of career choices; and to admit it is quite hard. Must have been very hard for yous. Becoming a writer would be nice, however it is inevitable that I will most likely be 'Corporate Scum'. I am not sure if I am to be proud of that or not - it's only my future..

As to my Goals. |

As to my goals:
Let's put it this way... It may seem childish - however give me a chance.
I found out about a Online game called Starsphere, basically a game for space nerds. I joined and decided to be deported to a unknown Galaxy. Within a week I had taken the spot as Galaxy Commander, created The Republic, destroyed three fools, & gained a score of 70,000. To gain that score it is common to play a month.
My goal is to achieve the best of whatever befalls me - if forced to I shall go on a War path.

I hate categories. But they sometimes make a good starting point.
Are you a 'people' person? Can you convince and motivate people?
Are you creative? What sorts of works do you create? How often?
Are you details oriented? Like making lists? Like completing things?
Are you ethically driven? Want to fight for justice? Or serve those in need?
So there's a start.

Since you mentioned needing money and your successes with that online game, even though it probably isn't the answer to your $16,000 question, I thought I would mention this...
It's amazing the economies that are created within and around some of these online games. My sister plays EverQuest as well as some others. She has been able to sell imaginary items and even characters with virtual experience and powers to real people for real money on Ebay. Some rare game items can be quite rare and powerful and people will buy them up. Same thing with well ranked game characters. It's basically a matter of paying for someone else's time and expenses (game fees).
What kind of time frame are you thinking of for trying to come up with the money for this school?

Believe it or not, one of my teacher's played Ever Quest. Anyway - I am simply born against categories. It seems I have a strange writing skill, my teacher's all insisted I become a writer - however writing seems Alien to me. I don't know why, I've done it the last seven years and even before that. Such as with pudding on my mom's kitchen wall ( Real experience. ). I understand some things take time, most things take time. But simply put that is not enough for me.. I could be called an overly-zealous young man but it's the truth. I believe patience has it's rewards.. however at the moment haste is of the essence. Now I am wondering how I can get an Icon for my name.

What I'm getting at |

Categories are just tools, still they can be annoying. Especially when hastily applied.
All I wanted to add was that if you can identify what you love, you should be able to find a way to turn that into a service or product you can sell to others.
It seems so basic when written out like that. If only it were that easy.

Over-Zealous? |

Categories like tools - as you say were made to simplfy and organize. In the Immortal words of Shakespeare,
"Be not afraid of greatness: some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon 'em." --From Twelfth Night (II, v, 156-159)

Moravian Academy? If your ultimate goal is to get into university do you need to go to a private school first? I'm not sure how it works in the US but here most uni students are from private schools but it is not too difficult for a non-private school student to do well and get into uni -- and many have. Just resist the temptation to follow the crowd in high school and study hard for the SAT or whatever it is.
