Considering that this is the real estate section of the forum, I was wondering if anyone had read any of Robert G. Allen's materials. He was giving some books away recently and I just finished reading The Road to Wealth which talks about a challenge he had conducted in the 80s. Did anyone else read some of his material?
Another book I read was David Bach's The Automatic Millionaire Homeowner.
Are there any other real estate gurus I should know about?

Before you really get started in real estate investing I would suggest building up some funds for that "great opportunity." I've found some great ways to make money online on the side while I scout the market waiting for the next big deal. When the opportunity arrives you'll be able to jump on it right away.
