To repair or not to Repair |

What is the percentage amount when repairing an item on the total value of the item?
I have purchased an armchair and the cost to repair it is 36% of total value of the chair?
Should I repair it?
Thanks.

I think it all comes down to an item and its meaning. Most electronics this day and age arent worth repairing, furniture however i think is worth investigating.

If you decided you would start shopping instead of repairing and you ran across a chair similar to yours only all fixed up nice and the price was 36% as much as a new one would be . . . . .
Would you buy it?

Depends on whether or not you'll be needing the armchair in the very near future. Chances are, you'll be OK without it in restored condition. In which case, it's better to repair furniture that you'll want around.

Good way to look at it.
It depends on the chair, how old/worn it is, how relevant to the decor it is (things may have changed), and what a replacement would cost. Add to that the "hassle factor"...
