HOW CAN I FIND A 401K FROM A CA. CORP. (1992) THAT NO LONGER EXISTS? MY RECORDS WERE LOST IN A FLOOD. I HAVE NO EMPLOYER ID# OR ADMIN NAME. WILL MY ACCOUNT STILL EXIST SOMEWHERE?

Do you know who was actually running the plan? For example, if it was Fidelity it shouldn't be too hard to hook up with your old plan, but might require some calls, etc.

I have no name for the company running the 401k. I only have a name of the company i worked for ( sold or dissolved 1992) the buyers probably moved funds to their 401k admin. How do i find tax id# for my old employer for trace or trace my old acct though my ss# ?

I would call the states department of tax and revenue. They should be able to assist in finding information regarding the company. Good luck.
