Russia has agreed to supply China with natural gas for 30 years from 2018 under a long-awaited deal struck Wednesday.
The two sides had been working on a deal for a decade, but the agreement has gained significance with Europe looking to reduce its dependence on Russian gas as relations with Moscow sour over the crisis in Ukraine.
Russia's state-owned gas company, Gazprom, sealed the deal with the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) during a visit by Russian President Vladimir Putin to Shanghai, CNPC and the Russian energy ministry said.

That is a plus for Russia I am sure, with all the political turmoil and their economy hurting a bit lately. I wonder how it will play out for China.
Pollution is such a problem in China and natural gas is a cleaner source of energy. It may turn out to be a long term win-win for both nations.

Natural gas is only cleaner if you look at the tail pipe, if you examine the entire process it is about the same depending on how you are extracting, transporting etc..

As for me that Russia is doing wrong, why enter into an agreement with a country that is stronger than you, so more and give their resources. In general, Russia is not right.
