Do you use PDF files?  Reply with quote

I write quite a few PDF reports to promote different ventures I am involved in and had an interesting development a couple of days ago.

Adobe insisted on upgrading me as well as trying to load some extra programs during the install, but somehow it screwed everything up and I got a couple dozen error boxes every time I tried to run it. Something about programs be registered twice in the registry for Windows.

Long story short, I dumped Acrobat and loaded Foxit 2.0 and WOW, what a dream come true. Instead of 20 Mb plus extras, I got it done in 1.5 Mb and it's lightning fast. If you don't have anything but Acrobat Reader to compare to, you really should switch.

It sure can and I promise you will never go back. Just remove Adobe and install it to get the associations to happen automatically and free up a few megs on your hard drive.

The good part is you can always go back, but I know that won't be anytime soon for me.

PDF documents are pretty good if you need something to be indexed, but at the same time have the ability to control the complete look and feel of the document including fonts. If its for a printout a pdf is much better than a html page.
