Forum wise www.money-talk.org don't know why they don't plug here.

The big daddy forum but many times people say they don't remember which forum they found my stuff from.

Link Crew and Link Referal also have problems with people not remembering the speciffic traffic exchange they registered.

Safe list have been dead for me for a while; but, I have had sign ups from them in the past. Captikirk thinks credit based is the way to go.

Where have you actually gotten referals from?

Almost forgot cross selling telemarketers is another lead sorce for myself.

Also forgot to mention off line busisness cards and flyers.

Haven't done classifides in a while but pre internet I got sign ups from that.

Even Wal*Mart likes direct mail. One top Lotto Magic recuiter only has 363 hits to her website.

So where have you actually gotten sign ups from?

If you're talking about signups to a newsletter or mailing list, I find it works best when you give them a reason to sign up. Create a free report that your users would find helpful and then use an autoresponder to send it to anyone who signs up for your mailing list. I've had good success with this method.

Most of my signups come from my website directly. I mostly use article marketing, forum posting and SEO to drive most of the traffic to my site.

I don't rely on much paid advertising like PPC or solo ads. I have never received a good response from them.

The biggest waste of time are traffic exchanges, FFA links, safelists and wholesale traffic.

Regards,
Daniel

I get the vast majority of sign ups directly from my website. If your website offers great content people are more than happy to learn more and therefore sign up or join the forum to increase their understanding.
