is it possible to actually be addicted to the net? Like drug and alcohol abuse? What are the signs? Do you panic or feel a little crazy when you have no net at home or just the thought of not being able to get online make you anxious? What are the signs? Does your net useage get in the way of living or the important things you have to do?

I think sometimes it does, but I can still resist it. 
Yes, I'm sure it's possible. I suppose it's possible to be addicted to anything, if one has an addictive personality.

Steven T of Aerosmith often quotes one of his counselors. Addiction is when you persist in a behavior despite negative consequences.
My wife gets upset at my comptuer usage sometimes so that can be a negative consequence. But then I'm an addict and go overboard:)

You can be addicted to the internet but its only an addiction when its to the degree that you cant get anything else done because you cant get yourself away from the computer, if you start neglecting your friends and stuff because your just isolated on your computer all day then yea.

So since my time on the computer has positive consequences (a fatter bank account) I guess I'm not addicted after all.

If I were addicted to drugs that cause harm to my body and could result in my death, I would worry, but I am quite happy with being addicted to something that puts money in my pocket and improves my quality of life. That survey is a JOKE in my opinion.

well if you use the computer to make money... it cant be an addiction its more of a job... but then are you addicted to your job then?

I think most people that have a computer are just a little addicted to the internet and yes it is just like anything else it is very possible to be addicted to the internet I admit that I am to an extent.
