Don't Get Yourself Banned by AdSense  Reply with quote

It's very tempting to click on your own Google AdSense
ads or have someone do it for you. With just the click
of a finger you can add a few cents (or a few dollars)
to your account.

DON"T DO IT.

Google is smart and if they catch you they will shutdown
your Adsense account forever. And AdSense is just too
good of a thing to risk losing for a couple of bucks.

A buddy of mine found this out the hard way when he was
banned for click abuse. And he didn't even click his own links.

He had told a bunch of his co-workers about his site and
how we was pulling in $150 a month. He was so proud that
he told them all to check out his site.

Unfortunately, a few of them thought they'd help him out
by clicking on a bunch of his ads.

Well he was certainly excited to see that his revenue that
day took off through the ceiling. But it all came crashing
down when Google took it away and told him his account
was deactivated due to click abuse.

He emailed them explaining what had happened but only
got a form letter response that reiterated the terms of
service and rejected his attempt to reapply.

I really don't blame Google for not believing him. They're
kind of like the traffic cop whose heard every story 1157
times. And there are plenty of people out there abusing
the system.

But keep this in mind the next time you think about clicking
one of your ads for a quick score. And tell your friends and
family not to click on them either. Their attempts to help you
may ending up getting you banned.

Yup, I'm banned from Google Adsense too. I'm so excited to share this money making way with my friend. At that time I also don't know that they are trying to help me increasing my revenue by clicking my ad daily. I think 2 of them were doing this for me. So guess what, I really banned from Google. Now I can't apply the Google Adsense anymore and lost the biggest income source for my site.

However, I came through an article that talking about weakness of Google Adsense system. If you want to make a site banned from Google Adsense, all you have to do is clicking their ads repeatly. I don't know whether this really happen or maybe Google teams already have their own system to prevent this. But if you really want to make some profit from your site, I think you should pay attention on this.

I just got a warning from the today, and i'm not sure why. It may be because a post on my personal finance blog was linked to from a news site, and suddenly got a spike in visits, but there was no corresponding spike in clicks (more like people came, looked, and left). I don't know if a sudden increase in traffic by itself will trigger a warning or what.

Stock Mama, maybe you should reply an email to Google Adsense team and tell them that you are having a sudden boost of traffic on that particular day. Just a piece of my mind Smile

I did that. And I wrote them a second time to ask if that would trigger a warning. I haven't gotten a reply.

Few things you can do:

1) Keep contacting Google. Do it every week and appeal. If your emails are polite they might reinstate.
2) Look for alternative ads. Yahoo and MSN can do the job too.
3) Look for alternative income. Never take Adsense as your main source of income. It should always be a side income/ bonus income.

I was banned from google adsense too, they claimed I clicked on my own ads, which I never did. But I was not making much from adsense anyway, just $4 a month

Adsense has always been quick to reply to me. I asked them about running thier ads on one of my sites and they replied within a day I believe. They are better about warnings now. They don't ban people as readily as they used to.

Also.....don´t add your site to any Traffic Exchanges if you have Adsense ads running. That is against Google´s TOS.
