Money, or Power.
I would rather have the ability to help people via money/power than have love.
It wouldn't be fun, and I might develop into some kind of charitable offshoot of Mr.Scrooge but sometimes a sacrifice is needed.

That is true, however I don;t see it as a hard and fast rule.
But even if it is, as long as the powerful has the same interests as everyone else then it doesn't matter.
If those in power use it to cure diseases, it may have a selfish interest but it will also benefit the general public.
