I can't truly say that 9/11 hits home...I am an American and I was totally totally toally devistated after it happened. Being politically ignorant back in the 7th grade, I was just screaming along with the others we should launch one at Mecca. Don't take that the wrong way. It was sought out revenge during my term of immaturity. I wasn't the only one.
But it did hit me, and it did hit me hard. Close to home? No. Close to the heart? Absolutely.
I don't think I'll ever be able to watch Flight 93 or any other movie along the lines that depicts the actions and events of 9/11. I really can't give a reason as to why or why not. I just get this sick feeling in the pit of my stomach and just back away from the discussion.
I've read that the makers of the movie got the approval of the families. That's great, but it won't sway me to sit down and watch it. Not even if it comes onto DVD. It might be great with amazing acting, but those events continue to linger in the back of our heads.
I think it's because I know the outcome of the movie. When I watch movies about the Holocaust and what not, there is usually a good ending (Schindler's List and The Pianist). This one...I know where it's going. I don't want to get that feeling ever again.

9/11 needs to be played out at the movies just as it has been on TV and in magazines and newspapers.
World Trade Center with Nicolas Cage opens August 9.

I shut down the RINOs here.
I shut them down and dismantled them and shipped their spare parts off to N.Korea, where they were put to use on a certain underground nuke test project that's been embarrassing Junior Bush over the weekend.

All that goes to say that you shouldn't get "flamed" for speaking your mind.

Maybe we should have a thread on N. Korea -- that nuclear test could have a big impact on our finances.

In North Korea, we took "The Katrina Approach".
It's like we just watched them say they were planning to DEVELOP nukes, we watched while they BUILT the nukes, we watched them TEST the nukes, we watched them publicly announce that they had DEVELOPED, BUILT and TESTED nukes. Now, North Korea is a brand new nuclear power.
Number of meetings the US has attended to discuss ANY of this with North Koreans: ZERO.
Boy my kids sure are "safer". Hekkuvva job, neocons!

I'm afraid we'll also be just sitting there watching while they DROP the nukes. (And Iran, also)
