Well, there's meeting weight loss goals - and then there's keeping the weight off. Meeting weight loss goals isn't necessarily healthy at all when the pressure eases and the wieght comes right back.
A healthier lifestyle implies lasting lifestyle changes.
Do the bonuses reward people for hitting the target? Or keeping the target?

Good grief Euler, you must disagree with everything...just to disagree.
Once a person sees the health benefits and feels good, the change will stick. It is harder to stop the momentum than to just keep it going.

You all are ASSUMING there is no "Limit 1 per customer" clause in the deal. Obviously, they aren't going to publish every little detail y'know.
It's like those people who ask, "If Adam and Eve only had Cain and Abel, where'd everybody come from?"
At which point I struggle to withhold, "Given specimens like as you, I see where people can go for the monkey-to-man routine!"

Hey, just for the record, I wasn't disagreeing or assuming. It was just a question I had.
Rolo, you're invitation to swap subjects is tempting...

Well, make a new thread and we'll talk about dogma and literal translations of ancient texts.
Ashraf has some interesting perspectives on that I would guess. It's one of the salient differences between Islam and Xianity.
Back to the topic at hand, I would say the policies are a very big step in the right direction. As Sarah observed, there's room for improvement, too.

AH HA! You're doing what so many do regarding religious texts: judge them before they fully know them.
You only know a snippet, the gist, of this policy as represented by a reporter (third party) and you are saying it needs improvement.

Enjoying your epiphany? LOL
My english teacher taught me that there's a wide gulf between observing where there's room for improvement and insisting that something needs improvement. But that's English.
Carry on with what you were saying?

Replace "room for/needs improvement" with "critisising it".

Most people live by that mentality. That's why they need to lose weight.
And regardless of what you say, I refuse to wait on my boss.
and you said that cause you felt like it

Rolo, brah, do you constantly bellyache er what? LOL
People who need to get paid to lose weight - I wouldn't bet on them staying healthy.
It's the people who are self motivated to improve their lifestyle that will reap the best benefits of lasting good heath. These are the people who don't need incentives.
Every little bit helps I guess. So yeah, pay 'em if that's what it takes. Whatever works, right?
