I've been using it for awhile now and really like it. I'm surprised more people around here don't have an account with them.

The extra .1 or .2% isn't worth the ING hassle.

Rolo,
How is that post helpful? What information does it provide aside from the fact that you have a savings account with a lower interest rate? For someone who complains about all the spam on this site, you should really pay attention to what you post.
Tell us, Rolo, as the one who is better than everyone, what exactly is the "ING hassle"? And where does the knower of all keep his money?
If you don't have time to elaborate, please don't bother posting in the first place.
I come to this site to hear people's opinions, but yours are always demeaning and holier-than-thou. Perhaps you should take some time to think about how your posts come across because I know I'm not the first one who feels this way and it's well documented throughout this site.

What hassle is that? I haven't had any hassle thus far.

The original post (how helpful is it when it's the third time I've seen the same thread started...hmmmMMMM?????) asked a yes or no question. I could have just posted, "No." now couldn't I? My post was helpful in that it gave somewhat of a reason why I do not have an ING savings account. If anyone actually gave a shit, they could have asked me for further details.

Whatdahell does spam on the site have to do with my shitty people skills???
I complain about spam because it's my freaking job.

Whatdafuck is that all about? You're a woman, aren't you? Because you apparently have some problem with me, but fail to deal directly with it and instead choose some inconsequential issue and blow it out of proportion. I'm sorry, I didn't realise we were in a relationship!

Ah, yes, you could have just posted that, indicating interest, rather than dumping your emotional baggage.
Now...for my answer....SEARCH FOR THE OTHER THREAD, EXACT SAME TOPIC and you will see my articulated reasons there...in the other ING love-fest.
One simple reason: why deal with two banks? ING wouldn't bi-directionally link to my accounts, took too long for deposits to actually be deposited, and had a clunky web interface. NetBank's MMA has always been just trailing INGs (3.2% vs. 3.4% atm), but my deposits are immediate, and I can get to ALL of my accounts from NetBank's interface. The hassle and wasted-time are not worth the extra 60 cents a month.

"knower-of-all"...should be hyphenated.

I have a lot of those, so, theoretically, I should be a valuable resource for you, whether you agree with me or not. If nothing else, I want to make others THINK.

"always"? yup...female. Sometimes they are and frequently it is by design. cf. "Porcupine"

I don't think so, and that is not my intention. There is only One Holy.

Perhaps you should get to the point instead of lashing out. All I see is someone struggling for an opportunity to bitch.

Alright, Rolo, you know what? I apologize for my rant. I was under alot of stress the other day and I haven't been getting enough sleep. This will be my last post on this topic.
But, I would like to point out that:
1. I am a man, and as a man I find your sexist comments inappropriate for this forum and unacceptable coming from a moderator.
2. I do agree with you that my reaction was overblown, but as you suggested, it wasn't just this post. I was unloading some "emotional baggage" as you say, but your posts have been getting on my nerves for a long time.
3. You're going to have to learn that people will post items before searching the forum. You need to accept this fact. This is one of the things that keep forums going, so I bet if you asked Andrew he doesn't necessarily mind the duplicate posts. So, the next time someone starts an ING thread, please don't dump on them. If it does piss you off, at the very least point them to the existing thread or as a moderator, move it there!
4. Complaining about spam is not your job. Moderating it is.
5. I find it interesting you chose the words "make others THINK." I think the emphasis should be on the MAKE rather than the THINK.
6. As a moderator, you may want to stick to the rules (stop swearing).
7. You are one of the most knowledgable people on this forum. It's unfortunate that you come across negatively to so many people:

Hey, at least you're honest!
I pulled the above links off the first page of search results for "Rolo." I could do more research, but I think I've made my point and I've already spent WAY too much time on this (obviously). I just wanted to voice my opinion that maybe you should "take a break" from being a moderator as one of the above posts suggests.
Like I said, this is the last thing I'm going to say about this. If you'd like the last word, it's all yours...

I find the sincerity here touching.
1.a. Then take some testosterone suppliments or something.
1.b. Sexist schmexist. That scenario has happened in many a relationship as any counselor will tell you.
2. I told you so.
3. I didn't "dump" on the original poster; you dumped on me and I called you out on it. Opinions are fine, but do not misrepresent the facts.
4. And that I do. I explained my preventative abrasiveness in another thread, which, you, no doubt, have read.
5. How about "MAKE others THINK"?
6. Perhaps you should be less concerned about such things. There, was that a nice way of saying STFU?
7.a. "So many people"? See #3.
7.b. Yes, I am honest and direct. You should try it some time rather than PUSSYfooting. eheheh

Oh yeah, opinions in the midst of emotinal spats are always noteworthy.

heh...cheap. I hope your mangina feels better soon.
I'm sure Scott appreciates your trashing his thread.

I use ING direct because when I was shopping for a bank I couldn't find a better savings rate anywhere, they have good customer service, and I feel comfortable banking there.

Scott:
ING is the best thing going. I know there are competitors who pay the same interest rate. With ING you can set up your account online, or by mail if you prefer. They just recently had an ad for 4.75% annualized on new deposits (until April 2006). Even if you don't get the 4.75%, it beats local banks hands down. You have a lot of company in ING Direct.
