I spend alot of time on various boards, but most pertain to my hobby of collecting old military weapons from WW1/WW2 era.

My Opa was saved by alcohol during WW1/WW2 era.
He got captured by Russian soldiers and the let him go so they could go drinking.
I told this to one of our solderiers during the Iraq war. The first one in the 1990s and he laughed and said he did the same thing. Letting guys go because he didn't want to do the paperwork!!!
Guess there is nothing new under the sun!!!
