Taxes on money earned from Paid Surveys, PTR, Autosurfing? |
|
|
I live in the US and was wondering if I have to pay taxes on money I earn from online opportunities such as paid surveys, ptr, and autosurfing. If I only earn like $100-$1000 will the government even notice if I don't pay taxes on this money?
One of the companies I earn from is based in Panama so they obviously wouldn't be reporting my earnings to the US government. Is the anyway the government would find out about this money I earned?
Thanks for the help.

If you earn over 500 from one company you are suppose to file...... and within a year i think you have to earn over 5000 before you have to file i think...

I assume this also includes online gambling where most of the sites are offshores.

There are lower limits on what companies must report as having been paid to you. However, all of your income, regardless of the amount or source, and regardless of whether you receive a form or statement from the payer, is considered taxable unless specifically exempted by law. Whether IRS will notice if you fail to declare it is another matter.

I wouldn't worry about reporting it. More than likely you will not make 600 in a year from any single survey company. If you make more than $600 from a single survey company they will send you a 1099 form to fill out. Then you will have to report it. But if you don't make that amount from a single company I wouldn't worry about it.
