What Happened to all the Threads?  Reply with quote

I'm only seeing 3 threads? Is there a glitch with the forum or have past threads been removed?

Thanks.

Do you mean in the new posts list? Probably only that many left after the spam has been removed. The new posts count doesn't get updated when we delete spam, nor does the page count. I don't remember whether it was this morning or yesterday, but I came on here to see a new post count of two hundred and some, consisting of six pages of new posts, and there were only three or four actual legitimate posts scattered through those pages; there were several blank pages. Depending on how a thread is removed it may get actually physically deleted from the database, in which case the counts and pages get updated, or it may just be hidden, in which case they don't. If a spammer has posted multiple threads, the second method is much easier, so that's what usually gets used.

If this doesn't describe what you noticed, then we need more detail. Everything seems to be working fine right now. But that doesn't mean something else couldn't have been glitched when you were on .... Confused

Thanks Tim for the detailed explanation. I think that explains things.
