Visit a Dr and ask for a prescription of Chantix.

Chantix is a smoking cessation agent used to help people quit smoking cigarettes.

I think one can find some other things to replace the cigarette if he want to quit smoking. such as some snacks, he can prepare some and eat them when he really want to smoke.

An amazing technique is there to leave the smoking habit. Take a honey nipple which is used for children and keep it in your mouth. Suck it as long as you can. do it daily.. and you can observe that the strong urge to smoke cigarets will soon disappear. Alternatively you may use a sipper having a coke or some thing else in it and sip it frequently. It also helps.

Vitamins and exercise twice daily to build "will power". Use the adrenalin rush to replace the nicotine addiction.

I was a two pack a day smoker, so I know what you mean. Still the bottom line is JUST QUIT. After the third day the addiction is beat, then you just need to hang in there a month or so to be free forever. I did it July 4, 1964 and have been free ever since.

Try to quit smoking and fail at least a dozen times and you start to become convinced that you have no control at all over those little white cylinders. The last thing you want to do is tell anyone you're going to try to quit smoking "again". That's were I was when I accidently found the "switch" that turned off every desire I had for cigarettes like a light. And 4 easy to adopt mind-sets was all it took.

Stop smoking is a difficult task. You are going to encounter any kind of psychological and physical discomfort and this will make you more and more uncomfortable until your decision weakens and you finally restart smoking. These discomforts can be lightened recurring to appropriate quit smoking products. Quit smoking lozenges are one of such products and a very popular one for many reasons.
