It depends on what kind of product or service you are going to market, in general facebook, twitter and linkedin are some of the best social networking sites that can be used for marketing. These three sites had been popular as an online marketing tool.

I am damn sure that Facebook is the best and biggest social networking site for advertising which is competing with Google now a days. Google has taken many steps to beat Facebook. but unfortunately it did not get any success.

I would like to suggest that facebook is a quite good choice.
Facebook was a total waste of time for me. Fortunately, it did not cost me any money because I had a voucher. The system is primitive compared Adwords and even Microsoft. I have not tried any of the others but I assume I will get the same result.

Right now it's facebook because of the numbers of its active users, which is more than 850million users all over the world. You can also come up with your own website (there are many free websites by the way) while doing facebook ad. Or if you really want to boost your advertisement, you can also attend webinar related to online marketing. Hope this will help.
