THE CET REPORT Current Recommendations:
Signal status: on a SELL as of January 7, 2005.
THE CET REPORT investment strategy signaled a SELL on January 7, 2005; this is a next day signal strategy. The order to sell was to be placed on Monday January 10, 2005 (due to the signal occurring on a Friday and placing the sell order on the next trading day which was Monday the January 10).
All major indices closed up last week. Volume remains strong but our indicators are confirming a decline in volume which could be due to a natural seasonal shift. The market has been in a trading range and is looking for some significant pieces of information to be pushed into the next "melt up" or "melt down". Even though the Russell 2000 had a very strong day on Friday, closing up 1.59%; that strong move was not enough to push the small cap average in front of the large cap S&P 500 and DOW Jones 30 average for the year. Small Cap strength is an indication of investor confidence and therefore is an important sector to watch.
