I don't agree with much of what it takes to obtain a FICO, because basically they just want you to borrow money and pay it back. But here is what my wife do and it's about as basic as we can do and have great credit scores without having to borrow hardly anything except for our mortgage. My wife has a credit score of 816 and mine is 782 both excellent. We have one credit card where she is the primary and I'm added on as a secondary user. We only use it for gas and pay it off each month. We do have a mortgage and have never missed a payment and are currently trying to refinance down to a 20 year. That's really all it takes. We pay everything else in cash.

The OP was posted as spam, but it's turned into a great topic, with a couple of great responses already, so the thread will stay. I'm removing the OP's sig in order to put the OP's post into compliance. More responses are welcomed.

One of the good ways to keep the good credit score is use your credit card. It serves as the best tool to improve the credit score if used properly. You should remind your payment to get cleared within the due date. It surely helps you.

To boost your credit score you must manage your credit cards responsibly, do not try to open another credit account if you didn't much need it, don't cut/close existing accounts and lastly pay your bills on time. Following all of these will sure increase your credit score when you next time check for it.

The only resource that is going to help you improve your credit score is money that can pay off debts. To generate that money, besides thinking about how to earn more, you must learn to cut costs. Identify the spending instances which are unnecessary and you could do without. Only spend on things that you must and invest only in things which will help in your business. This is the most important part of this sermon on how to improve credit on your own.

Improve credit score is quite difficult but not impossible. Here it is essential to follow some tips, which help to improve your credit score.
Always pay your bills on time. Late payments play a major role in driving down your score.
It is better to retain your debts and a bad credit score account. Instead of closing account because, closing of an account will only get you negative reports and feedback.
Use online banking services and make sure your regular recurring bills are paid automatically. This way you will not forget payment and your credit score improve.

| IT IS NOW NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO MAINTAIN YOUR HIGH FICO SCORES |
|

Interesting,
Having been burned by banks when the last regulation went into effect and banks started lowering credit lines, my FICO dropped like a rock and I had never missed a payment or was late. Just prior to effective date of new consumer credit rules, all of a sudden my credit lines were reduced which increased my debt to credit line, and that is a killer for FICO scores.
Worse than that, I got ticked off at banks and paid off all but one and cancelled them, and then I took another hit on FICO scores. Talk about a scam on consumers, this is perfect example. When banks sent out notice of raising interest rates across the board to save their greedy butts from collapse, I took option to refuse and then they put hold on accounts a month later, no more new charges, but my interest rate remained at 6%. Combined they screwed my FICO scores by 100 point drop.
Now I just use a corporate card and switched to credit union for banking, so their loss in the end, and as we are all seeing, Bank of America is about to bite the dust once again, and even Warren Buffet and his $5B insider trade that Obama urged him to do won't save them now, and good riddance to trash like them. lol I suggest everyone move their accounts to credit unions for the big banks are all operating on thin ice, and it is getting worse. B0A will be first to big to fail bank to go under, so just watch, I give them six months with no chance of second bail out. Why else would Obama induce Buffet to invest $5B to delay inevitable. lol
I hope all the big banks go under as they should have been left to do in 2008 collapse. That is what bankruptcy is for, so who said too big to fail? They had to be idiots, nothing should be too big to fail, including government. After all, the U.S. filed bankruptcy before, as they will have to again as I see it for there is no way to pay off the trillions, no matter what anyone says, it is impossible.
Success to all,

Big banks have been greedy and arrogant and deserve to suffer the consequences. (And the Federal gov't deserves at least half the blame for making it possible for them to get greedy and arrogant).
That being said, it might be that BoA is in the process of being reformed from within. And now Buffet's going to be a good influence. Whether or not it's too little too late, I don't know. Time will tell. But it may be too early to write them off.

If I am not mistaken, staggard payments for the amount being paid would be the essential keyword here..
