I just checked out what Google + is all about. I don' think it will become as popluar as other networking websites like Facebook or Twitter just because those two sites are so well established. The idea behind Google + is pretty cool and I like the Circle feature they developed. I think people will use it, I just don't think it will beat out Facebook.

More so than drive traffic, it will probably play a role in ranking, and therefore driving traffic indirectly.
Google have massive momentum in many aspects of the web. They also have the fastest growing mobile operating system with Android. They can leverage what they have to drive momentum to Google +. I see it as a major force in the future.

Best way to get Internet traffic with Google plus is to get involved as soon as possible. The best you wait, the harder it will be to build a superior network. Also, you want to join Google Plus and then start adding people to circles fairly fast. You can produce huge Google Plus Website Traffic if you sign up, develop a group that circles you and put out quality, interesting stuff. Spammy stuff, not so much.

This Google own version of social network will soon released bunch of updates to compete with rival Facebook. Just days ago they added new features called "block" and "ignore" features. This will allow user to block or ignore other users from their circles page.

At this point a lot of sites are seeing traffic from Google+, and we’ll have to wait and see whether these traffic volumes continue to grow once the excitement of the social network wears off or, whether they will skyrocket once Google+ gains more mainstream adoption.

been testing G+ for a couple weeks now. I must say I like it more than FB as FB has way too much clutter (and back in the day i switched over to FB from myspace for the same reason: too much clutter)
I am personally having a hard time juggling between the two - FB or G+? So I have to make a decision and it's a hard one.
As for G+ button on websites, I'd def put one on a blog as I think it will gain momentum super quickly, and will be an important search signal in no time, of that I am pretty sure. Note that Google is verifying G+ accounts right now so no fake profiles.

I would like to think Google plus is like Twitter or LinkedIn.
You build your network, build your reputation. Post a lot of quality content.
Do those things in Google plus and you will definitely drive traffic to your website.

Google+ is definitely something to take note of. Quite frankly, anything that Google does is surely something to take note of. Now whether you choose to get involved or is your choice. but fact still remains that Google is the mightiest search engine and they're whole concept behind search is to deliver what searchers want. So if people are voting for your website regularly, then this could very well impact your rankings in a positive way.
BUT, ole G isn't stupid. They know that with this Google+ launch many people are going out and getting fake+'s left & right - and some in HUGE groves! I really think this is super risky and may even cause a site to be penalized in some way by doing this. Who knows for sure...but cases have been proven several times over that if something doesn't seem natural to Google then there may be serious consequences.
