Anytime people give you mathematical calculations they make it seem all rosey, but what I have noticed in just about every post I have ever seen on this forum is that no one calculates for risk. Keep that in the back of your mind. Risk is always risk no matter how you try to twist words....

As a professional pilot I think I spent my career managing risk. As a futures trader I calculate risk before any trade. Because they don't publish the numbers here, don't think people don't calculate risk. The problem is risk means different things to different people, and they don't all see it as you do, nor do they quantify it as you do.
There's nothing wrong with taking on risk IF you understand and are willing and able to cope with the consequences if your risk is actualized. Remember that risk is only a potential loss, not a certainty.

Good call on living with your parents in order to do this. More and more 20-somethings are doing just this, and it's a prudent thing to do indeed. Some people think this is way better than dolling out money toward a condo or whatever so early on...

My goal is to use the profits from investments to pay off my loan and so far it's been working in my favor.
I only live with my parents because saving and investing would be a lot easier for me and I feel it's important to actively participate now rather than later to the fullest.

Hello, I have a large sum of money (million +) I wish to invest. I am very interested in investing in banks such a citi group and bank of america who were beaten up during the 2008 financial crisis. I believe they are under valued. Could you guys please tell me what you think about this idea? Also could some one let me know where i can get a broker?
Thanks...
