The financial markets are again focusing on increased inflation concern after The Bank of England officials announced that they are uncomfortable with the current level of inflation, and that Germany and China both reported higher inflationary pressure than expected. Clearly inflation is not a surprise as food and energy prices have been rising for months.
The fact that central banks are addressing the issue implies that global interest rates will likely be rising which will choke off growth. Every country cannot export and grow their way out of financial crises at the same time, and we are fast approaching the point where we will have few buyers.

Normally there is an inverse relationship between unemployment and inflation. At this point in time I think politicians are more concerned with unemployment. This relationship does not hold however when we see the price of a necessary commodity rise (such as gasoline). Since it is very hard to substitute away from the use of gasoline we could see rising inflation as well as rising unemployment.

This is a real concern globally. The bank of England will uncomfortable because Inflation always has to be on a similar par with interest rate. Currently interest rates are low to try and boost the economy buy spending. The problem arises is when inflation rises interest rates will have to rise otherwise the value of the currency falls and this is bad for the country. There if interest rate rise with inflation this could course more trouble for home owners as they may not be able to make loan repayment and therefore become bankrupt, this could lead to another recession. Troubling times.
