Just to add more of my thoughts... some malls/stores who has it relatively is nearer. For many of us, that is more than just convenient. Saves us gas too if you can walk it.

And then IMMEDIATELY after that transaction I saw, "Oh, and I would like to make a payment to my Kohl's card" and hand over cash to the store clerk and pay the card balance off.

BAZZINGA!

I'm contemplating getting a Target card for the 5% all purchases. I think store cards have their advantages if you frequently shop there.

Can I ask why you make a payment through ur Kohl's card and then pay the card balances off right away?? why don't you keep the balance and pay it off at the end of the month or so?
