I NEED YOUR ADVICE [Internet Business]  Reply with quote

I am interested in starting a home business after being downsized.

I know that there are a lot of scams out there and I can't afford to invest time or money on any scheme that is fradulent or just simply does not work for anyone, but those selling it.

Has anyone of you found a ligitimate and fairly simple way to make money on the internet.

I am willing to work very hard, I just need to be pointed in the right direction.

Please e-mail me with your replies.

Thanks for all your help.

Sincerely,

Roni

Hi Roni -

I would have to say I've not found too many "buy in" plans to work very well on the Internet, though I freely admit I have also not made it my habit to try many of the obvious ones. For example, I do know that money can in theory be made selling on ebay, but the reality is, to substitute for an income, you either need a large-inventory e-store, or you really need to have a sharp eye for buying and reselling. Neither of which I seem to have (to the extent I would consider this vs. a six-figure income - which of course is what the spam ads like to promote as the potential).

My sincere advice would be to analyze your skills in very broad ways, then attempt to refine those broad sets to the point where you can identify a few dozen things you would not only be qualified to do, but would enjoy doing. Reason there is, you'll have to put a lot of hours into any internet business, or it's very likely going to fail, plain and simple.

The "simplicity" part of your request is the problematic side, in my opinion. Simple as in, press a button 500 times and make a dollar? Or simple as in, you just set something up without much technical expertise needed, and hang out on the couch waiting for the cash to pour in? Or simple as in, the idea itself is not overly complex?

I think only the last one is viable. Google has a text input and you enter some words and hit enter. eBay does online auctions. Amazon sells books and CDs. They've all grown a lot since then, but that was the simplicity of their foundation - and your million-dollar-idea is probably best begun if it's as simple as a ten-word sentence.

Good luck to you, hope this was generally if not specifically helpful...

chiron, thanks, that was a thoughtful answer. Extra $2.00 of forum cash! Wink

vmead, you will need to work at it, for that is where you invest into yourself and your business, and add your value such that you have a product or service that people will be happy to pay you for.

It doesn't have to be complex, but it may involve many steps to arrive at where you want to be. Take your time and see what works for you...
