I don't think anyone could post a debit charge without actually charging you anything.
If I still worked for my aunt's business I would swiped my card right now and try to enter in $0.00 as an amount... but I suspect I would get an error message. How would the processing company "process" nothing? How would the processing company collect a merchant fee for their service when it's based off a percentage of the purchase price... you can't make anything when you take 2-3% of $0.00.

You might want to find another bank to do business with. I belong to a credit union and they don't care about minimum balances or how many times I use my check card.

BG,
Pay all of your bills online with the debit card. Eliminate checks or auto pay, and use the debit card instead. That, plus gasoline, groceries, cash, and drugstore does it for me.
I always use mine at the drive-thru...
or when ordering pizza or sandwiches...
2 Liter Cola ($1.58 ) ...
As a last resort:
You could always use your debit card to pay your Paypal account several times per month, and then transfer it back (small fee)

I use my debit card for everything! It's basically like having cash in your pocket! You can def use a debit card more than you think. On groceries, gas, dining out, buying a little something for yourself, bills, happy hour, etc....

The Paypal option seems to be a very good idea, Thanks!
I've just started a new thread to ask about Payal:
