Doctors work to save lives. It is their vocation. Because of this, I believe that it is just right for them to have bigger incomes. However, I believe that their responsibilities are so big, they should be under deeper scrutiny from the law. This means that I believe there should be stricter penalties, and a more careful examination from the law to make sure that the doctors are doing their jobs with sincere hearts, and not holding back the patients from recovering for the purpose of prolonged income. If caught guilty, the death penalty should be always available for them as a result of their bigger responsibilities and higher incomes.

I think the rewards can be worth it. It takes so many years of school though and may Dr's are saddled with a lot of debt by the time they finally graduate.

If you speak to many doctors you will get different opinions. For the education that is needed and the long hours being a resident you will hear it is not worth it. Depending on the specialty it can also be a different sense of whether it is worth it or not. If you ask the nurses or other heathcare professionals you will hear that being a physician will bring you loads of wealth.
The salaries are dependent upon which speacialy or whether they have thier own practice.

Usually Doctors have more income then other occupations. Doctors have
handsome monthly salary and they earn a lot from their private clinics.

Entering into a medical profession is something that most young people think about before they step into their professional lives. This is a very lucrative field, despite the responsibilities, and that is the reason why there is such a heavy demand.

Well said.
Being a Dr is also extremely demanding as well. But doctors do get paid well.

I honestly believe as far as being a doctor. What type of salary you make depends on what type of Doc you are, where you practice, how much business do you normally see, how good you actually are, etc. I highly doubt that its that way with everyone(School teachers making more than Doctors). However I have been wrong before so .......

Plumbers make more money in the long run because they don't have to build up all of that debt from gong to school. They start working right out of high school and INVEST that money that they would have spent on college. This according to a recent study. Some plumbers are millionaires. I remember one on that show "Megan Wants a Millionaire".

As I am in the UK I would not pretend to offer comment on specifics in the USA.
However my younger daughter graduated as Dr in July 2009. After graduating they have to complete foundation year one and foundation year two and in August she starts a further 2 years of training.
In my opinion the 1st driving force for doctors is to save and improve lives and money usually, but not always, take 2nd place. Unless doctors around the world receive a reasonable return for that extra long training it will be difficult to recruit doctors.
Of course it is a fact that not everybody can possibly be a doctor -application is not enough in itself there has to be adequate intelligence and to have adequate intelligence as a Dr it is most likely to mean that you have above average intelligence.
What it boils down to is you may wish to become a doctor but you may not be able to and therefore you may have to pursue alternatives.
