Social Advertising on Facebook |
|
|
Facebook is used by over 500 million people. This audience potential is pretty high, whatever your targeted demographic may be.
Typically, ads on Facebook are run daily, and according to the model you’ve chosen; whether it be CPC or CPM, and are set within a maximum daily budget. (The maximum daily budget is a benefit because it disables the challenge of accidentally overspending.)
Overall, setting up a facebook ad is quick and simple , and as stated before there are two methods to go about obtaining traffic. These are Cost Per Click (CPC) or Cost Per Thousand Impressions (CPM). A great thing about these forms of traffic is your ability to choose a range of options when setting up your advertising account that can target ads specifically to either as direct or as broad of an audience as you would like.
These targeted ads usually appear on a small box in the right sidebar of Facebook pages, displaying information, an image, link, and promotions to the chosen destination.
What Should Be In Your Ad?
Your ads can be made up of a URL; which could be your Facebook page, a website/blog, or any landing page, an ad title (the max being 25 characters), the body text of your ad (the max being about 135 characters), and an image.
Regarding the image, it’s best to choose colors that can attract people to click your ad, but not being too bright or tacky as to offset a potential customer’s interest. The good thing about content and images is that Facebook attempts to make it easy by making suggestions via the link it provides.
Customizing Your Ad:
Getting specific in an Ad is all Facebook Advertising is about. The trick is to be as targeted as possible to ensure better results. This can be done by configuring your targeted area based upon area and audience. Since Facebook is worldwide, you can zero in upon things such as location (country/city), age, their gender, marital status, languages, interests, existing Facebook Friends, and other factors. A great thing about Facebook is it gives you a running reach of your ad; depending upon the demographic you chose, and also makes suggestions for budget/cost. Ultimately, organizing and managing this aspect is based upon what budget is going to be best.
Is Facebook Worth It?
The ROI in Facebook is dependent upon the nature of the product and the targeted audience. A methodical approach should be implemented, like testing, adapting accordingly, and making necessary changes as you see better results. Doing these things is essential if you want to achieve success in any kind of paid traffic medium, especially in Facebook.
It’s important to keep in mind that Facebook is still social media, and so marketing efforts should be information and value driven, because the goal is to appeal to them not to “hard-sell”.

Until about a week ago, the way to be successful with Facebook Ads was to use the Facebook Ads Manager tool, but it just got shut down:
http://www.mrgreen.am/facebook-ads/mr-green-aint-happy-facebook-shutdown-fb-ad-manager/
The reason for this tool is that FB ad campaigns have a very short shelf life. You create a campaign, it runs for a few days, and then traffic trickles off. So you then create a new ad (maybe just create the exact same ad), rinse, and repeat. This tool did that automatically, creating hundreds of ads all the time. It's over now though! Onto the next thing...

Ads in facebook is a wisest decision. Facebook is bay far the greatest marketing area online. You can place up to 135 characters in a particular Facebook ad, which is nearly double as much as Google.

I certainly missed the FaceBook thing. Whole thing seemed superficial to me. And now there is a whole movie about it.
Perhaps one day I shall take the FaceBook or Twitter Plunge or should I just move on to the next thing?
Google is winning me over with Chrome. My bad spelling may now be lessoned;)

I ran some ads on facebook as a test. I only used about $25 dollars but, the number of page impressions I got was pretty crazy and I had some clicks follow to my site. It was a good little test but, I'm still not sure what to do with it yet. It is not a good idea to use with google adsense. The return just isn't there.

You definitely have to change the image out frequently. People get blind to an ad without even knowing it if it's the same image on the ad over and over again. If your clicks go way down, just put up the exact same ad with a different photo and you'll see the clicks go up again.

You can get alot of traffic from facebook. Make sure you set a specific name for the facebook page and keep it simple. Second get old, new or other peoples friends and build a list. Use the list you have built to promote your product or service. You need to send out messages weekly to all your friends on facebook. That is the key your friends list. Just having a facebook site is not enough. Good Luck!

The key on face book is to make a new site for whatever business you are in. Get friends to your page. Once you have a lot of friends you keep sending them new offers or free e book information. That is how you use social media. Just having the page sitting there is not good enough. Good luck!
Best,
Pat

Imagine all those 500 million active users, some percentage of those users can be your potential customers or clients, that's why marketing using facebook and other social networking sites can be a very good marketing strategy
