Hi...I am planning on moving to Washington State from the Bay Area and look for a job there and live for 2-3 years. I just graduated college and do not have any money saved up. I am planning to get an apartment in Seattle or surrounding areas and split rent with a friend who is living there. The rent would be around $500 for a 1 bedroom apartment. I plan to only make $15 an hour and work full time. What budgeting will I have? I want to save as much as possible and I am prepared to live as frugally as I have to. I will have to start paying back student loans and the way I have it set up is $50 a month. My overall loans are around $25,000. I will have a place to stay in Washington for free until I find a job. Any advice, plans, opinions, questions welcome. I am 22 years old btw and I have a degree in marketing. Looking for any entry level work.

I can give you one big fat tip, since you have a degree in marketing put it to use on the Internet. There are tons of opportunities for a good marketer to make some nice extra cash and you will need it in Seattle. Make sure you go down to the waterfront and get some Alder Smoked Salmon, WOW that's good!

Solid advice. The internet is definitely where the marketing budgets are shifting. Especially in Seattle, you will find a ton of opportunities.

A Google search for "SEO" should give you access to a lot of great, free information. The typical rate for an SEO expert is somewhere in the $50... $80 / hour range, so you shouldn't have problems getting 25% off that if you learn the ropes quickly. Make sure that the information you're reading is updated; Google has changed its internal rules recently, so the articles that were written last year (or earlier) aren't that useful.

Yes, you can absolutely make it on $15/hr, full time... that's over $31,000/yr. You key will be to stick to your guns living below your means. It's tempting to want to go spend all that cash from your new job. Have a written spending plan (budget) every month and find an accountability partner to keep you to it.
If you're a do-it-yourselfer, go pick up the book The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey. It's full of practical advise and a quick/entertaining read.

"The Total Money Makeover" or "Financial Peace" by Dave Ramsey. Both are excellent personal finance reads.
to get started on budgeting, here's a few tips for you:
1. Write down your monthly income at the top of your page (or excel sheet)
2. list of all your expenses down the side and assign an amount to each
3. keep going to you hit zero... that is, your expense equal your income
This is called a zero-based budget. Every dollar is spent on paper, on purpose BEFORE the month begins. Then all you have to do is what you wrote down. No cheating
