Two words=Instant Gratification

Credit cards have their risks and so do debit cards. If your the type of person that is forgetful and doesn't pay their bills on time than a credit card can be a horrible idea. Also, the credit card has been show to involve overspending because it's not like your parting ways with cash. I notice when I have to balance my checkbook, I tend to watch my money closer. It's not like anyone balances their creditcard transactions. No one ever seems to mention that. Also, there is the interest angle that can kill someones building of wealth.

As for debit cards, they require responsible use, but tend to hold your money when you rent cars and hotels. Otherwise I think they are benificial.

I use a Check Card from my credit union. It is from Visa and carries the Zero liablity protection in case of fraud. Also, it's like writing out a check and you actually have to balance your account. I rent cars with it and reserve tickets and hotels all the time.

I use both and use them for different purposes. Credit cards offer more protection than debit cards do.

Great Marketing scams such as, "The more you spend the more you save". Marketed by a credit card company that put a cash reward into a savings account for you. Also rewards, rewards, and rewards, only if people knew what they paid for those rewards / points.

Credit cards have more legal protection than debit cards. And if you pay the balance in full every month, there isn’t any interest also.

You can also build your credit score if you use your credit card smartly.

I use my credit card instead of debt for a few reasons. First you do not need to try and remember a pin number. Also your credit card is stolen you only are responsible for the first $50. With a debt card you have to try and convince the bank to give you your money back. Lastly it is a great way to build up your credit. This is great if you are just starting out one you own, or trying to repair your credit.

I use my credit cards as much as possible. However I pay them off immediately. The reason is points or cashback bonus. I have a Mastercard that I usually use, unless Discover is running one of their specials at the time. Also buying online Discover has some great deal.

I also like the added protection that credit cards offer.

I use credit cards over debit cards because of the following reasons:

* Ability to Build Credit
* Consumer Protection
* Ability to Spend Money You Don’t Have
* Rewards

People prefer credit cards because if they are stolen, you can dispute it more conveniently than the debit cards.

I think the reason why people like using credit cards is because with them you can buy now and pay later while debit cards you buy now and pay now.

I prefer debit over credit but debit usage doesn't build credit score...

Easy. Immediate gratification and for racking up debt and paying it back.
