Congratulations on that!

I enjoyed living in Clear Lake for several years, nice parks and lots of water to enjoy.

I've worked with a real estate agent who is very good in case you decide to look in-town.

Houston has tons of outskirts since it's so big, but nice areas in town too.

To the north there's The Woodlands, lots of pines, nice, long commutes to town.

To west is Katy, or east San Antonio as some call it. Get more for your money here and I-10 hell.

To Southwest is Sugarland, suburbs well established, and south Pearland subburbs planted in the country.

Garden Oaks is home, an old neighborhood on northside, with big yards and small houses.

There is a lot of money going into building up the properties south of Houston. Especially along the 45 corridor. Baytown, Friendswood, and even Texas City.

I personally prefer the innerloop but to each his own.

Hwy 288 is the least traveled Hwy in the Houston area. There are a number of new housing additions plus towns along the way out to Lake Jackson, where I live. Be careful of flooding. Ask the neighbors.

Yeah, insurance got ugly in Texas with the mold claims that kind of got out of control a while back. The only insurance I could get for our recent purchase was thru the Texas Fair Plan, they will insure in many more cases than the major insurance companies who are scared to insure anything other than new homes. My agent is connected with Farmers as well as the Fair Plan, and might be able to hook you up. Lookup Steven Northcutt...

Can you PM me with the contact info. Allstate might be able to write a policy... so I am crossing my fingers that they will be able to as it is a good rate. I should find out today.
