I'm a college student too and so far, I have two bank accounts for my money.

1. Everday Expenses Savings Account (w/ ATM)
I enrolled an autosaver account under this so every month, 1000 bucks is automatically set aside. It's very helpful since I don't have to worry about setting aside money for savings and expenses.

2. Savings Account (for expensive purchases)
I put money here when I want to save up for something big like a vacation or a new laptop, etc.

I'm planning to start a savings account for emergencies too. But I'll have to save up to open an account for that.

Here's an article on Wealth Management that I read. Browse through it, maybe it can help.[/i]

I appreciate you thoughts at this little age. making a proper budget for your day-to-day expenses will help a lot. Small cutbacks can be a good option. . Control your expenditure by developing a spending plan. Find larger cuts and try to increase your income.

well it depends on ur situation are u working full time and supporting urself? if so it would be best to put at least 10% of ur paycheck in the bank if ur not in the position to be able to afford to do that put in less but put in something every paycheck and make it an exact percentage then u will be less likely to go back on it secondly if ur still living at home not many expences do the same just on a higher scale and make sure u put it in the bank and not keep it in a jar or burried in ur backyard lol you can build interest hope i have helped you

If I would have been half as responsible as you at 18 years of age, I never would have ended up in great debt during and after University.

My 3 credit cards almost ruined me Sad Thank god for my debt management plan!

I was always told to treat a monthly savings deposit as just another bill.
